So the news is as of June 30th, large PC makers will no longer be able to offer XP, and retailers will soon run out of their current supply and then thats it. XP will live on under the following situations:
• XP will be available on PCs from smaller computer makers known as "system builders" until January 31, 2009.
• XP will be available for so-called ultra-low-cost-PCs until June 30, 2010.
• The low-end Windows XP Starter Edition will continue to be available in emerging markets until June 30, 2010.

What I want to know is, how do you all feel about this? When I built my box last August I went to 32bit Vista, and just last week installed the SP1 for it. Now its not my day to day machine so Vista has been ‘ok’. Firewall and network issues for sure, and had more after the SP1. But I was going for DirectX10, and now SP1 added DirectX10.1, and only Crysis used 10 and yes, it looked amazing, but not sure if it was worth going to Vista so early. But the drivers have improved and the XP performance over Vista is about non existent from what I can tell.
